up until the daylight
but never feeling quite right till we're strobed out and traced
engulfed in blacklight
sweating creatures overcome the need
the greed
the chemical intervention
hypertension
the noise
we breathe
gasp for air
feel the dominance
the power
touch the turbulence
now numb
the ringing in the ear
the sweet caresses of the fear
bring it up and hold the light
the vision now in sight
we try to reach too high towards expulsion
this desire
now higher
on fire
close the eyes and dive right in
disciples of the sin
of flesh
and light
and noise
and life
screams with urgency
as youth drips from these tired veins
it stings
this tool
but no salvation for the fool

straight into the headlights
blinded only by the foresight knowing someday someway
we all achieve the flatline
feeling nothing truly matters now
we all resort to random acts
our superstructures are chipped away
life
limb
original sin
we make it up as we go along
shout slogans from the day before
while others fall from pure selfworth
isn't that what we were contacted for
restless
sleepless
wandering
we'll abuse our senses till they scream
bloodletting for redemption
self contamination
we reticule our fallen
then kicking them while they're fast asleep
we cover eyes then we turn away
while others start the cycle
once again
we feel the morning come
wet flesh on this tired soul
no redemption for the weak at heart
no salvation for the fool

no one has the time for sleep
the body aches
the muscles weak
but headstrong
not long
minds collapse from memory leak
just shove us to the edge again
lift us up and hold our hands
and lead us to the pit
a kiss good bye as we jump right in
the flame
feed the burning love
the lust
it will hold you up
and sweat
until we're going down into the brink of sanity
turn it on and see the light
the vision now in sight
