She stopped herself from calling
She's dialling but then hanging up before it rings
When she finally got the nerve to speak to him
All she could say
"I need to see you"

She phoned a taxi to meet her
She rode the 30 minutes to his home
He opened the door, met her on the stair
She wrapped her arms around him

She said:
I never said 'I didn't miss you'
I guess it doesn't matter anyway
I never said 'I never loved you'
But I guess it doesn't matter anyway

He pushed her back and took a step away
He gathered his nerve and walked back inside
He closed the door, leaned against it
He covered his ears but he could hear her outside

She said:
